Alaska Alternative Medicine Clinic was established by Dr. Sandra Denton in response to what she saw as a "one size fits all" approach in the medical field. Knowing that not every person is responsive to the same treatments and that sometimes prescriptions can cause more problems than they address, Dr. Denton decided it was time for something new!
Dr. Denton has been combining the latest in technology with the best of Alternative Medicine for over 30 years now, with impressive results! She is one of the most sought after Alternative Medicine Doctors in Alaska and has been asked to speak and share her knowledge internationally!
Dr. Denton also knows that she can't do it all alone and has searched out some of the finest minds in the industry to assist her in this important mission of healing.

About
Dr. Sandra Denton
Dr. Sandra C. Denton graduated from medical school in 1971. At this point in time it was still unheard of for a woman to become a doctor. During her time at medical school in Tennessee she was ridiculed and ostracized due to the "fact" she was attending medical school in place of a man who "wouldn't just get pregnant and quit practicing".
Not only was she entering into what, at the time, was considered a "man's field of practice", she was also attending a medical school that prided itself in how many students it could flunk out. Through all this adversity, Dr. Sandra Denton persevered and overcame with a tenacity that still serves her (and her patients) well today.

After 13 years in Emergency Medicine, Dr. Denton recognized that too many patients were being handed some form of pill and sent home to "just deal with" their symptoms. She saw way too many "one size fits all" treatments and these had entirely too many side affects and repercussions for her liking.
At this point Dr. Denton decided that there had to be a better way to heal her patients!
Dr. Denton pivoted to an Alternative Medicine pathway in 1985.
Sandra C. Denton, MD then founded Alaska Alternative Medicine Clinic and has been pioneering how we address health ever since!
Dr. Denton is constantly being pursued to speak on the intricacies of health and has spoken internationally, including at the International Congress of Alternative Medicine in Greece. She has testified to the FDA in regards to the dangers of mercury fillings in teeth. Dr. Denton even lectured with Hal Huggins, DDS. in Denmark and neighboring countries in regards to treatment of mercury poisoned patients
Dr. Denton has been a radio host, and is published in several medical journals. She is also one of only a handful of Board Certified MDs for Chelation Therapy, a non-invasive procedure that helps remove heavy metals from the body. In addition, Dr. Denton has achieved the status of "Fellow" on the American Board of Ozone Therapy, not an easy accomplishment!
Dr. Denton considers herself a "medical detective", and is skilled in identifying the causes and appropriate therapies for chronic and acute illnesses. She is a Diplomat of the American Board of Clinical Metal Toxicology, a member of the American College for Advancement in Medicine, The Institute For Functional Medicine, The Board of Chelation Therapy, as well as the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) and the only ILADS doctor in Alaska.
In Dr. Denton's 50+ years of practicing medicine she has never stopped pursuing better and more advanced answers for her patients.
